Parish Census and Parishioner Updates

We manage the archdiocesan census and demographics data collection annually in the fall.

Surveys are sent to all parishes, asking for statistics about:

    • Population by age and language
    • Households
    • Masses and RCIA
    • Marriages and Funerals
    • Education
    • Parish Staff
    • Parishioner Involvement

The data are compiled and published internally for:

If such information (historical and current) would be useful to you in your own parish strategic planning, please call or email this office. (Permission to release such data must be granted by the Chancellor.)

We manage the registered parishioner update process annually in the late spring.

    The process:

    • Reports are sent to all parishes listing their current parishioners and addresses.
    • Updated reports are returned to us by the parishes.
    • Our master database is reviewed and updated.

The master database is used by The Catholic Voice in determining its mailing list. If you have questions concerning The Catholic Voice, please click here.

Note: Occasionally more than one parish will list the same person or family, for any of a hundred reasons. When this is noted, we will send a letter to the person, asking for their preference. We will then notify the respective parishes of the parishioner’s wishes.
