In 1999, Archbishop Elden Francis Curtiss approved the creation of the Pastoral Institute Juan Diego. Its principal purpose is to form, train, and prepare leaders for the Church.

Courses: Six 8-hour courses in Spanish are offered over a 3-year period.

 

  • Introduction to the Scriptures
  • Church, Vatican II Documents, and the Domestic Church
  • The Creed: The Profession of Faith
  • Sacraments and Liturgy: The Celebration of the Christian Mysteries
  • Morality: Life in Christ
  • Prayer: Christian Prayer

 

Certification

 

  • Courses taken by Hispanic diaconal candidates will be recognized as partial formation by the Permanent Diaconate Office.
  • Courses taken by Hispanic catechists will be recognized as partial formation by the Office of Religious Formation.
