Academy of Adult Faith Formation and Evangelization

"Upon all the lay faithful, then, rests the exalted duty of working to assure that each day the divine plan of salvation is further extended to every person, of every era, in every part of the earth." (LG 33).

The mission of this academy is to build up the body of Christ as a prophetic people in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. The academy also takes seriously the Apostolic Exhortations, Christifideles Laici and Evangelii Nuntiandi, which call on all of the laity to develop themselves and grow deeper in faith so that they might transform the culture that surrounds them.

This academy provides two vital aspects of laity formation. The first is instruction in the faith for adults and adult faith formation ministers so that they may bring this formation back to their families and parishes. The second, is formation in evangelization so that lay people can fulfill their duty as Christians to transmit the Gospel to the entire world.

This academy currently houses three schools for the propagation of this mission, the School of Evangelization and Catechesis, the School of Faith Enrichment, and the School of Biblical Studies. Each of these schools is integrated into the wider mission of the institute as a whole, helping to bring people to Christ and Christ to the people so that each person might become a true example of what it means to be priest, prophet, and king.
