Nick Phillips

Hello, my name is Nicholas Phillips and my home parish is St. James. I am the first born of my parents’ seven children. I attended St. Richards and St. James for grade school. For high school I attended Creighton Prep School in Omaha.

From a young age I thought that I might be called to be a priest.  I soon forgot about this, and thought more about married life. Toward the end of high school career the feeling was undeniable that God was calling me to explore the priesthood further. I first resisted but with grace of God, I was able to find peace with it. I am so glad that I let go, and let God take over my life.

It is important that if you feel the call in your heart don’t worry. God will keep pursuing you until you are ready to accept God’s will. I would suggest a few things to help you along the road of discernment. Receive Jesus in the Eucharist as much as you can if not every day. Spend time in prayer, don’t just run through the motions, pray with your whole heart and ask to know God’s will in your life. This is a prayer that God will always answer, but in His time not yours.

Pray without ceasing, and entrust yourself to Blessed Mother’s care.

God Bless,
